MARCH 2026 CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS REPORT MIRA MESA COMMUNITY PARK PHASE II IMPROVEMENTS.

Construction Progress Period of February 20 to March 20:

We are approaching the end of the second rainy season (October–April). The total number of non-compensable delay days to date remains 24 since project commencement.

Security cameras have been installed throughout the park by the contractor to help protect the nearly completed facilities. The cameras are programmed to notify the police if unauthorized activity is detected after hours (weekdays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and all day on weekends). The contractor has also hired a security guard.

The guard is present on site during non-business hours, Monday through Friday, and throughout the weekend to help secure the site.

Ongoing Work:

  • Ongoing installation of underground irrigation improvements.

  • Ongoing installation of overhead pool plumbing within the equipment building.

  • Ongoing construction of the all-wheels plaza.

  • Soil amendment and preparation in progress for tree planting.

  • Ongoing installation of electrical lighting controls within aquatic building.

  • Ongoing installation of handrails at aquatic complex.

  • Public art delivered to the site and is being installed.

  • Ongoing installation of 20-foot-tall perimeter fencing for ballfields.

  • Ongoing installation of gates for trash enclosure.

Completed Installations and Repairs:

  • Tree and sod planting completed within Area 1; plant establishment period ongoing.

  • Installation of trash enclosure roof.

  • Installation of hardscape improvements adjacent to aquatic building and equipment building.

  • Installation of gates at aquatic complex.

  • Installation of intrusion systems at aquatic and equipment buildings.

Outside agency coordination:

Continued close coordination with the neighboring Epicentre project, managed by the County of San Diego. Continued close coordination with SDG&E and AT&T planners. Continue close coordination with DEH inspectors.
